Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Java Web Applications Developer to join a dedicated Software Applications Development Team delivering mission-critical solutions for State Agencies. This role will work as a key contributor on an Agile DevOps Team , participating in the design, development, and maintenance of large, complex Java-based web applications. The successful candidate will bring advanced knowledge of Java development, modern web technologies, and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities:
• Collaborate in Agile planning sessions to define development requirements and timelines.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Use development tracking tools to manage and document assignments and progress.
• Fulfill Developer tasks for assigned epics, features, and stories.
• Assist teammates to achieve shared goals and deadlines.
• Report on development progress, challenges, and blockers.
• Coordinate effectively with Information Analysts, Database Administrators, Testers, Project Managers, and other technical stakeholders.
• Write high-quality, maintainable Java code that meets defined requirements.
• Develop and maintain application screens, features, and supporting back-end functionality.
• Ensure all deliverables align with performance, security, and accessibility standards.
• Perform unit testing, create test scenarios and data, and ensure acceptable defect rates.
• Support integration with other systems via APIs, microservices, and interfaces.
• Maintain accurate documentation in tracking tools.
• Develop and support technical components including:
• System functionalities and algorithmic calculations
• Notifications and cron schedules
• Database connections and operations
• API web services and intermodular interfaces
• Authentication, security, and configuration management
• Mobile device interfaces and emerging technologies

Required Skills:
• Direct experience as a programmer developing and maintaining Java-based web applications.
• Strong knowledge of:
Java 11 & 21 , Spring/Spring Boot (2.6 and 3)
• Spring JDBC, JPA/Hibernate
• HTML, CSS3, SASS, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript
• REST APIs and distributed architecture patterns
• Experience maintaining older applications with:
• Java 8, Struts (1 & 2), Hibernate 3/JPA
• jQuery and jQuery DataTables
• Subversion and Ant
• Familiarity with Figma Material Design to Angular code conversion (a plus).
• Experience with Informix, SQL, or other relational databases.
• Understanding of application security best practices.
• Direct experience working on mission-critical systems for medium to large organizations.
• Prior development in a criminal justice domain (Courts, Public Safety, Corrections) is a plus.
• Proficiency with Agile/Scrum practices and DevOps environments.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work within a cross-functional Agile Release Train (ART).
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining focus on quality and deadlines.
• Relevant certifications in computer science, web development, or related fields (preferred).
