Position: Operational Risk Analyst

Rate: $42.55

Location: Jersey City 07302 (3x a week onsite)

Duration: 7 month contract (possible extensions)

Job Description:

A large financial client is looking for a Risk Partner to join the Global Operations organization. The role of the Risk Partner is to partner and support teams within the Global Markets Operations Line of Business and senior leaders to proactively identify, validate, prioritize and mitigate risks, improve controls and maintain a focus on operational excellence and sustainable solutions. It is this team’s role to strengthen the control environment, improve the risk culture & practices, and promote the Global Operations Risk Principles by embedding and maintaining a robust risk culture across the organization, leveraging the bank's risk framework.

Responsibilities:

• Managing operational risk working with various lines of business – Collateral Operations, Exchange Traded Derivatives, Global Markets Shared Operations (funding, reconciliations, fees and billing)
• Work with operations teams where issues are raised by risk or the LOB. Work with the team to understand the process and route cause. Document and report it according to the banks risk framework. Understand the risk, existing controls and work through how it's not going to happen again.
• Operate in an inquisitive nature to challenge the status quo and find root causes
• Support LOB for internal audits and other risk deadlines.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 2+ years of Global Markets Operations experience, ideally from a risk perspective
• Experience understanding risk for a Markets group
• Individual contributor with a strong control mindset with the ability to support and challenge the status quo with the GMO LOB independently.
• Strong problem solving skills, critical thinking and creativity to influence and support and GMO LOB issues and concerns.

Compensation:

$42.55

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
