e&e is seeking a Polygraph Examiner for an onsite contract opportunity in Fairfax, VA!

We are seeking an experienced and certified Polygraph Examiner to join a professional public safety team. This role involves conducting polygraph examinations for pre-employment screening, internal investigations, and criminal inquiries. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong ethical standards, excellent communication abilities, and the technical expertise to produce accurate and defensible results. This is a critical position supporting law enforcement hiring and investigative processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct polygraph examinations for pre-employment, internal affairs, and criminal investigations.
  • Prepare detailed, accurate, and legally compliant polygraph reports.
  • Maintain and calibrate polygraph equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy.
  • Provide expert court testimony when required.
  • Manage and safeguard polygraph records in accordance with applicable laws and policies.
  • Collaborate with investigators and law enforcement personnel.
  • Stay current with industry advancements and maintain professional certification.
  • Offer training and consultation to internal personnel on polygraph procedures and practices.

Requirements:

  • Certification as a Polygraph Examiner from an accredited program recognized by DPOR.
  • Strong knowledge of polygraph instrumentation, techniques, and legal considerations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High ethical standards and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience conducting polygraph examinations.
  • Background in law enforcement, public safety, or government work environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Prior investigative or detective experience.
  • Familiarity with court procedures and legal standards for admissibility.
